Best Meteor Showers to Watch

Annually, two of the most famous meteor showers are the Perseids in August and the Leonids in November. Peak nights can offer up to a hundred “shooting stars” per hour under clear, dark skies.

For optimal viewing, find a location away from city light pollution and arrive about an hour before midnight. Lie back on a mat or deck chair and look up with the naked eye—it reveals more meteors than through binoculars.
